Hi, I’m Erin Opoku, MA, LMFT

I am Licensed Marriage and Family therapist and a MFT board approved supervisor with over 10 years of experience in the field. I have worked in a variety of settings ranging from in-home therapy, dual diagnosis programing, outpatient therapy and in leadership roles directing clinical oversight.

My therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in Adlerian and attachment based therapy.  I help clients recognize how the relationships around us have helped guide us through the years we have lived and how those relationships will continue to shift and change as the years continue. The relationships we surround ourselves with can foster a sense of security and stability, which in turn allows you to build resilience and regulation.

I attempt to build a strong sense of attachment in therapy and then utilizes evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psychoeducation and a down to earth, non-sugar-coating approach with my clients to empower them to reach their personal goals.

My therapeutic passion resides in supporting individuals processing through grief/loss/death and dying. I also support clients in my practice with areas of diagnosis or struggles, which include anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar, parenting supports and general life adjustments. I work with individuals and families ages 16 and up.

When not in the therapy office I enjoy spending time outdoors (only if it is above 50 degrees), traveling, listening to music (all genres) watching sports (ranging from professional (MN fan) to my own children’s sports and spending quality time with family and friends.
